So my point is that a lot of the cloud puffs that are building up behind one another are getting thicker and thicker as they are supposed to, but really once the actual cloud is formed then these thicker areas are just hurting you badly with no benefits. Does that effect the density? I found that framerate is quite good in light-medium clouds, but when you hit the heavier clouds then it all goes south, but in reality the view is the same. Love that you tackle the default clouds, I for one would rather use those than a third party package. You can force clouds redraw by changing any setting in the weather screen even if you set it back before clicking on "Apply", clouds will be redrawn anyway. Some datarefs only take effect after a redraw of clouds.Ĭount ratio is possibly one of them. I'd hate to think they hard coded it but they might have. I think they must be changing things because very few of those datarefs seem to do anything I looked at some of the shader files hoping to find some variables or defines but I havent seen anything yet. I found a dataref that decreases the number of cloud puffs but the first thing it does is to do away with clouds farthest from you. I'm trying to find a dataref or a setting that allows me to control the number of cloud puffs drawn on a ring by ring basis.
